Scanning for the creation of a replica of a protected facade

As part of the preparations for the demolition of a protected building, we carried out high-precision laser scanning of the facade, which features rich architectural details. The goal of this project was to preserve the existing facade in digital form—even though it will physically disappear—and use it as a basis for creating a faithful replica.

The facade was rich in complex ornamental elements, profiles, and specific historical details, which required a high level of precision and a carefully planned approach to scanning. We used advanced technology to capture the geometry and texture in high resolution, ensuring that all elements were documented with millimeter accuracy.

The final result included:

  • A 3D model of the facade with all details

  • 2D drawings and technical documentation for the purpose of designing the replica

  • A PDF report and orthophoto views for additional visual reference

This project served as a key foundation for the design team in reconstructing the appearance of the original facade on the future building, in full compliance with all conservation guidelines and cultural heritage protection standards.
