Scanning and Modeling of Rajko Mitić Stadium (Marakana)
For one of the most iconic sports venues in Southeast Europe, we carried out a comprehensive laser scanning and digital modeling project, focused on accurate documentation, analysis, and future development.

Rajko Mitić Stadium, widely known as Marakana, is one of the most significant sports facilities in Serbia and the region, with a long-standing history and cultural importance.
As part of this project, we conducted an extensive survey and digital documentation of the stadium to support its preservation, modernization, and long-term planning.
Using advanced laser scanning technologies and aerial data acquisition, we captured highly detailed information about the stadium’s geometry, structure, and surrounding context. This data formed the basis for creating an accurate and reliable digital representation of the existing condition.
The resulting digital documentation provides a solid foundation for structural analysis, renovation planning, and future design interventions, ensuring that all decisions are based on precise and up-to-date information.
The scanning and modeling process included:
- Comprehensive laser scanning of the entire stadium complex
- Creation of a highly accurate 3D model of the existing condition
- Detailed modeling of structural elements, seating areas, and circulation zones
- Documentation of surrounding terrain and immediate context
Project deliverables:
- A complete 3D model suitable for analysis, renovation, and future expansion
- Full 2D technical documentation in DWG format
- A comprehensive PDF documentation set for the client and design team
This digital representation enables efficient space management, informed decision-making, and long-term development of the stadium. By combining precision surveying with advanced modeling workflows, the project establishes a reliable digital foundation for future architectural and engineering work.
